Poesis means Making
Vt pictura poesis, says Horace in the Ars poetica. As is painting, so is poetry. Both are worthy of close interpretation.
Good poetry too is an intricate, intrinsically satisfying product of human labour, a miracle of praxis, a bellwether of genuine social progress.
